THE LIVING NOMAD

Privacy policy

What we use, why we use it, and the choices you have.

Updated 27 September 2026

Who is responsible

An Honest Day’s Work Ltd (England and Wales company 15640874) is the controller responsible for personal information used to operate The Living Nomad. Business address: 30 Newton Drive, Leyland, PR25 5BH, United Kingdom. VAT registration number: GB466108489. For privacy enquiries, email hello@thelivingnomad.com.

Information we handle

When you register, we process your name, email address, account identifier and authentication information. Our authentication provider handles password verification; passwords are not made available to our support team. We store your membership status, payment-provider references, saved films and viewing progress. We also receive information you send for support and technical information such as IP addresses, request times and errors needed to operate and protect the service. Stripe handles card and billing information; the app does not store your full card number or security code.

Purposes and lawful bases

We use account, membership and playback information to perform our contract with you: signing you in, delivering films, taking payment, saving your choices and helping with problems. We rely on legitimate interests in running a secure, reliable service for proportionate diagnostics, abuse prevention and handling enquiries, balancing those interests against your rights. We process records where necessary to meet legal obligations, including accounting and responding to valid legal requests. If we introduce optional marketing or non-essential tracking, we will explain it and seek consent where required. Browsing or buying a membership is not consent to marketing.

Service providers

We use Supabase for authentication and application data, Stripe for checkout and membership billing, and Hetzner infrastructure for hosting and media storage. Email services deliver account and support messages. Providers receive the information needed for their role; Stripe may also use payment information for its own legal and fraud-prevention responsibilities. We do not sell your personal information or use advertising trackers in this app. Information may be shared with professional advisers or authorities where necessary and lawful.

International processing

Providers may process information outside your country, including outside the UK or EEA. Where restricted transfers apply, the arrangements must use an applicable adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards and any necessary additional protections. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your account.

How long information is kept

Account details, saved films and viewing progress are retained while needed to provide your account, and are reviewed when you request deletion or close it. Billing and transaction records may need to remain for tax, accounting or legal obligations. Support records and security logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry, security purpose or dispute. Backup copies may remain until the relevant backup cycle expires and are restricted to recovery use. We assess retention by purpose, sensitivity and applicable legal requirements rather than keeping everything indefinitely.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the law that applies, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent where we rely on it. We may need to verify your identity and explain any lawful exception to a request. Email hello@thelivingnomad.com. Cancelling billing and deleting an account are different: tell us if you want both. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or your local regulator.

Security, children and updates

We use access controls and other safeguards appropriate to the service, but no internet service is completely risk-free. Membership purchases are intended for adults; we do not knowingly invite children to create paid accounts. Contact us if a child has supplied information without appropriate authority. We do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects solely through automated processing in the app. If our practices change materially, we will update this notice and notify you where required.
